Model and drawings of our Limau Manis Retreat is being exhibited at Toffee KL as part of the Malaysian Architecture Week 2025 exhibition program, where we are displaying alongside more than 30 amazing Malaysian architects. The exhibition runs from May 24th through to June 22nd with talks, conversations and networking events throughout the period. Talks were organised throughout the exhibition, enabling the participating architects to present their projects. The project team comprises Lina Muhammad, Ros Adilla Roslan, Bahirah Rahman, Adam Aziz Marzuki and Yow Pei San.

At 1:50 scale, our model for Limau Manis Retreat articulates our ideas on resilience through carefully considered form and materiality which are rooted in a particular place where it is situated. Cutting through the main living, working, and external zones reveals the layering and overlapping of the private and the shared, as well as the inside and the outside spaces. It also illustrates the use and juxtaposition of locally sourced materials like earth bricks, bamboo, and recycled plastics to achieve a balanced approach in reducing the building’s carbon footprint.
The project proposes a typology that enables separate living and working in separate single-storey volumes that are linked with covered walkways – each with independent entries, privacy and a strong connection to the gardens. Spaces are conceived as single-room deep pavilions that have been arranged around courtyards, offering all parts of the project excellent amenity and enhancing flexibility of use with as many permutations of program possible.
